From 2012 - 2013 I lived in Bangkok, Thailand and worked at Wotif Group, which is now part of Expedia. Wotif is an Australian online travel holding a number of travel brands in Australia and the South Pacific. Wotif had an office in the central business district of Chitlom in Bangkok, Thailand.
Back in 2012 no one was quite sure what to call the role I was hired for. These days it would be called a product manager. I answered to the head office manager and head of marketing, and had UI/UX design and brand manager responsibilities, but worked between the in-office marketing, development and sales teams and collaborated with remote offices.
I helped primarily on the Asia Web Direct brand, but also on Wotif, Latestays, Travel portals, and other projects. I managed features and direction for major products, connected intelligence across the org, improved newsletter success rates and helped brands generate better and more relevant content.
